Jonathan responsible for Boko haram escalation says Dogara

SPEAKER of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has blamed the Goodluck Jonathan administration for the escalation of the war in the North-East.

Dogara spoke yesterday during a visit to the Dagba Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp, Area 1, Abuja, where he presented malaria prevention items and clothing for women.

According to him if the immediate past administration had fully responded to the Boko Haram threat, in its early stages, the level of killing and destruction recorded in recent years could have been prevented.

He however urged the IDPs to be patient and hopeful as the current administration has ensured that the military has recovered many towns once under the control of Boko Haram.

He also told the IDPs that government is working to return them to their communities.

He said: “It is the failure of governance that drove you out of your communities to this place and everybody knows that even by our charter which is the Constitution that the primary responsibility of government is to secure the lives and properties of its citizens.

And the blame game continues....
